Words really are not needed..

Daddy’s Little Girl

Last Sunday we (again) braved the no-tax ‘crowd’ and went over to our local Target to look for more clothes for Katie Lynn. She does this squeal sound when laughing; it’s so hard to describe in words so maybe I’ll post a video or audio clip at some point. Anyhoo, whenever she makes this sound I tend to attempt to replicate it and mimic her.. which in turns makes her laugh more thus creating more of her signature sound. I don’t know who enjoys is more.. her or me.
We’re walking down an aisle and I keep repeating to her: “Can you say Da Da? Da Da? Daddy?”
To our amazement, Katie Lynn says it. Da Da. As clear as can be. I gaze at Monica with a “did she really just say it?” look on my face.. Monica heard it too. So I continue repeating “Da Da” to her only to have her repeat it back to me.

My heart just melts when I look at my daughter, and it’s such an inexplicable feeling when I hear her say “Da Da”.
Somehow I’m at a loss for words.. except for “I love you, Daughter.”
Moving On… Again

Katie Lynn just keeps going and going. She has done it again. As of today (august 20), she has learned to sit up on her own. She has been able to go from sitting to on her tummy and then she is stuck. Tonight she decided that she could sit back up after laying down. How exciting!!
Well, we tend to put her to bed in our bed around 8ish to fall asleep and she gets her 9ish bottle, which she just drinks and goes right back to sleep. Not a problem…right? Well, we always put pillows around her and she is fine. Tonight I took her in there, laid her down, said goodnight and left. About 5 minutes later I thought to myself “wonder if she will try and sit up, nah, she is asleep”. SO, I go to check on her anyway and guess what…ya, you guessed it. She was sitting up!!! Called Tom back, we both laughed, and then said (almost together) “upstairs for you big girl, no more mommy and daddy bed to fall asleep in”. It was really cute.
I then took her upstairs to her crib, laid her down and with in about 2 mintues she was sitting up and trying to pull herself up on the crib bars. Man, she is growing too fast and I can’t believe it.
Just wanted to share, and she did this for the first time around 430ish this afternoon in Daddy’s office and then continued to do it about 15 times through out the rest of the evening. No more crying baby on her tummy, she can sit up!!!
Just Do It

I’ve never claimed to have the best memory in the world. But one of things that has stuck with me is something that my mom always said. Clothes can be hand-me-downs, but every child needs a good pair of shoes.
So with that in mind, as we braved the world of the Allen Premium Outlets during no-tax weekend this past Sunday, we bought Katie Lynn her first pair of Nikes.

First week back….already?!?!

What a week. So much is going on and we can’t believe that summer has come to an end…where did the time go?
This week was my first week back to work, aka, working in my room and sitting through new orientation things. I am really excited about this up coming school year and look forward to my new school.
Tom is at work, as normal.
Katie Lynn went to her first week of Day Care at her new school. She had a great first week and seems to really like the school. We are very excited about the school and can tell she loves it there. This is the most important thing. She has done all kinds of things this week. She made a new friend, they play on the play mat together. She finger painted a brown monkey and her teachers can’t seem to say enough about how happy she is. They have something planned every week and she is learning things. Very exciting, we feel this is more of a learning enviorment and not so much as just baby sitting.
On the crawling front…not just yet but she is getting closer everyday. She is really getting the hang of reaching and pulling. So much fun!!!
Here are some photos of her in her Lady Bug outfit with a matching bow for our Katie Bug.
She wants to crawl so badly……soon
Bows can be bought from Andi (http://www.thebow-dandthebeautiful.com/) I sure do miss my Babineaux’s!!!

We have loved every mintue and can’t believe how fast she is growing up.
I do have to say I have been pretty lucky in my time with her. She starts daycare again today as I go back to work but with the way things have turned out, I have been able to spend 6 out of the first 9 months with her at home. Now I am counting down to our first break
