Another year, another round of goodies. We had so much fun making our Christmas cookies, popcorn candy, Oreo balls and fudge for our friends and family. Here are some pictures of all the helpers.
Starting with the fudge…

Now onto the cut out cookies that Monica’s parents started in 1976.

Round 2

Karyn was a big help while we did cookies.

A Very Merry Christmas

We woke up to a white covered yard this morning, we had a very pretty white Christmas this year. How special for it to be Karyn’s first Christmas. We of course had to take the girls outside first thing to play in the beautiful snow.

Lets start off with snow angels.
Next we have Katie Lynn and Daddy running around.

Time to head in and see what Santa Claus brought…
Miss Karyn checking it out.

Miss Katie Lynn checking it out.

Santa gave Katie Lynn a Minnie set, she loves her Minnie Mouse.

Santa gave Karyn a pengiun puncher, she loves it and just laughs at it when it pops back.

Katie Lynn got a “phone” in her stocking, she has been trying to call her friends all morning. She puts it up to her ear and starts talking away…”Micah…Bridget”..she is so funny.

Time to open gifts, Katie Lynn was helping Karyn open this one. She is such a sweet big sister.

Tom got a Bears flag to hang outside during football season.

Karyn got a Cabbage Patch doll. Mommy and Katie Lynn each got their own on their first Christmas.

Katie Lynn got a lap top, not sure who is more excited about this.

Really checking it out.

Our family on Christmas morning.

What a great morning, time for a nap.

We hope you all had a very wonderful day.
Happy Birthday Jesus, the reason for the season.
on another note…..
Happy 4 Month Birthday to our little Karebear.
We had the girls well checks last week. The Doctor was pleased with how both of them are growing.

The Night Before Christmas

Went to church and enjoyed a very nice service then off to an early dinner.
We then went to enjoy some Christmas lights. We went to a beautiful neighborhood in Plano. The lights were gorgeous, the trees were wrapped, there were characters galore and the added touch of snow made it perfect. During our drive you could hear Katie Lynn talking away about all of the “ights” and Karyn would answer her. During the ride Katie Lynn decided to hold Karyn’s hand, it was precious.

Back home and the girls wanted to watch the Grinch.
Then it was time to open their one gift on Christmas Eve.
A new pair of PJ’s.
Next it was time for Daddy to read his story to the girls.
Last, we set out cookies for Santa.
Merry Christmas to all!
“The Gown”

You’ve probably read about Katie Lynn’s and Karyn’s baptisms and seen us refer to “the gown”. So what is it about “the gown” that makes it special?
It was handmade by my Grandmother to have her kids baptized in. Three generations of my family have now been baptized in it (in order):
- My Uncle Bill (my Mom’s Brother)
- My Mom
- Kim (my Sister)
- Me
- Madison (our Niece / Kim’s daughter)
- Katie Lynn
- Lauren (our Niece / Kim’s daughter)
- Karyn
It’s a tradition that we’re honored to keep going with hopes that it will continue on into the next generations!
On Thanksgiving, I asked my Mom to find some pictures of her, my uncle, Kim, and me all in the gown. Unfortunately, she could not find any of her in it but actually found a couple of my uncle!

Seeing Santa Claus

A few weeks ago, we headed down to Frisco to attend their tree lighting and visit Santa. It was rather cold, so we were all bundled up. We waited in line for about 45 minutes.. all the while Katie Lynn was in a good mood albeit cold naturally. Karyn is in Monica’s arms overbundled and sleeping. It’s finally our turn to see Santa, and here’s the picture:

Hmm.. Katie Lynn’s conspicuously missing. That’s because she had a huge crying fit and wouldn’t go near the sleigh. At least Karyn looks cute!
We decided to try again this past Wednesday night at the Village in Allen. We wait in line for 50 minutes, and again, Katie Lynn is happy and excited. It’s finally our turn and..

Katie Lynn is in this picture at least! Merry Christmas!
It’s that time of year……

It has been a very busy couple of weeks. There seems to be something going on all the time and never enough time to get it all done. Here are some things we have been up to.
Monica’s family has a tradition at Christmas. Her parents started this their first year of marriage, they would buy an ornament for the year and a lot of times it would represent something important in that year. We decided our first year of marriage to continue this tradition and now we are continuing this with our girls. Our first picture here is Daddy helping Karyn hang her very first ornament on the tree.

Here is Mommy helping Katie Lynn hang her ornament. This is the first year that Katie Lynn has picked out her own ornament. Hers is a bus this year: She loves the big yellow school buses. At school there was a yellow bus that would drop off a student everyday and her classroom was at the front of the building and the kids could see the bus everyday. The whole class would yell BUS when they saw it and then when the bus drove away, they would say “bye-bye bus”. Ever since then, every time Katie Lynn sees a bus, she yells bus and just smiles.

For a about a week after we got the tree up, Katie Lynn would go to her bus everyday and say “my bus”. Tom and I would then say, “yes, your bus but it stays on the tree”. She would respond by saying “OH”. We laughed evertime. She is one funny girl.

Here is our fireplace, I love the stockings and each one has our name on it.

Here is our little Kare-bear all dressed up and ready to go out. We decided to go down to the tree lighting event in Frisco. It was a very cold Saturday night and we had so much fun.

Here are our 2 girls dressed and ready to go.

Once we parked, we made sure they were both bundled up, it was really windy and very cold. Katie Lynn kept saying “it cold, it cold”

Daddy and Katie Lynn are waiting in line to see the Big Red Man.

Mommy and Karyn are also waiting to see Santa Claus.

A family shot, Karyn was a sleep and warm, we didn’t want to wake her.
This was at the front of the line to see Santa, we were next.

Here is our wonderful shot of the girls Karyn with Santa.
